Overview

Located in Grand Island, NE, the Shop Assistant Director is responsible for the development and oversight of the Regional Managers.  To make their regions as profitable and efficient as possible with the highest degree of continuity in operations and customer service and to focus efforts towards continually increasing revenues and operational efficiencies at all levels every day.  The Assistant Director also works with Senior Management to set strategic direction that drives the division to excel at safety, customer service, market share growth, profitability, and KPI optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Defines hours of operation and staffing requirements to achieve financial targets.
  • Must have a strong sense of self which includes leadership, be success oriented, and a have clear leadership style that drives execution.
  • Develops and executes a clear set of strategies that drive superior customer experiences.
  • Communicates with and takes direction from Division Director regularly about operations.
  • Oversees Regional Managers and their responsibilities.                         
  • Coordinates and assists in the hiring of all Regional and Shop Managers.
  • Develop and oversees the training of new managers and their evaluation process.
  • Set sales and financial goals and expectations for each Regional Manager and follow up weekly on their success. 
  • Be accountable and responsible for the financial success of the locations under your supervision.
  • Establish the goal and expectations that all Regional Managers must meet and exceed, with clear KPI’s.
  • Sets annual budgets for all locations in that Region.
  • Works with all Regional Managers to evaluate all P&L and budget performances each month.  If locations do not perform to budget then an action plan will be designed to address and correct the problems in a timely manner.
  • Provides coaching to Regional Managers and conducts disciplinary meetings, if needed. 
  • Oversees the day to day operations of all locations to ensure a steady flow of business.
  • Responds to and tracks all Warranty Claims.
  • Strives for best in class staff at all levels of our operations, we want to the best people in the industry on our team.
  • Travels with Regional Managers ensuring consistency in processes. (Inspections, inventory, training, compliance, etc...)
  • Travels to locations regularly to conduct individual inspections.
  • Sets up and develops new shop locations.
  • Helps to identify new and potential new shop sites for development.
  • Directly responsible for recruiting quality Regional Managers, Managers and location staff.  Don’t leave all this up to HR, your position is one of the most critical cog in the whole recruiting process and as such we expect you to take an active part in finding the best people in the field.
  • Works with recruiters to ensure steady flow of applications by attending technical school job fairs and other recruiting activities.
  • Attends trade shows and assists in promoting Boss Truck Shops.
  • Keeps a handle on industry changes to keep us current.
  • Attends customer appreciation events and Grand openings as they come up.
  • Communicates with the Product/Equipment Manager to ensure proper inventory levels are carried along with collaboration to resolve all equipment issues.
  • Communicates with the Sales & Marketing team as required on a regular basis. Sales is one of your primary jobs so you should be working closely with our sales team to drive business into our location by taking an active role in this process.
  • Acts as liaison between Sales Team and operations to ensure the fulfillment and execution of customer contracts.
  • Ensures all safety policies are strictly followed.
  • Provides friendly and competent customer service.
  • Reports for work in a timely manner.
  • Available for and responds to emergencies.

 

Additional Job Duties:

  • Assists in other duties, as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises 3 or more Regional Managers.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience (include certs or licenses needed):

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or extensive industry experience.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position is located at the Bosselman corporate office in Grand Island, NE.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the shop industry.
  • Must have some knowledge of the tire industry.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand monthly P&L statements.
  • Must have the ability to read, follow, and implement budget controls.
  • Current valid driver's license, insurable, and be able to drive for long periods of time.
  • Able to work weekends, holidays, and as needed.
  • Must be able to communicate in English. – IF APPLICABLE
  • Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
  • Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
