The Dishwasher is responsible for washing and stocking wares to proper standards throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Lifts racks of glassware, cutlery, fry baskets, pots and pans from a holding area to the dish machine or three-compartment sink.
  • Scraps dishes into the disposal area and cycles the dirty dishes through the dish machine.
  • Places clean glassware from the dish machine onto dollies as well as stocking clean dishware on the cooks’ line.
  • Hangs clean cooking utensils, pot, pans and baskets on appropriate hooks throughout the kitchen.
  • Fills and changes chemicals and soap used in the dish machine at a minimum of every 2 hours.
  • Sorts flatware into bins for proper cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Empties trash into the dumpster.
  • Assists management team in controlling food cost.
  • Observes the basic rules of kitchen safety, sanitation and back door safety.
  • Utilizes various cleaning chemicals in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Completes all daily, opening and closing side work.  Gets checked out by management before the end of the shift.
  • Provides friendly and competent customer service.
  • Reports for work in a timely manner when scheduled.

 

Additional Job Duties:

  • Assists with other duties, as assigned.

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience (include certs or licenses needed):

  • Restaurant, retail or guest service experience preferred.

 

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Able to work under stress.
  • Able to work accurately and rapidly.
  • Must possess a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
  • Must be flexible with the ability to adapt to change when required.
  • Ability to work with different pieces of kitchen equipment.
  • Must be well groomed and follow company uniform standards.
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends.
  • Must have reliable transportation and phone.
  • Must be able to communicate in English. – IF APPLICABLE
  • Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
  • Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
