Overview

The Information Systems Manager is responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems that support core organizational functions.  This role supervises and leads a team of analysts that manage our primary business applications such as JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, NCR HQC / DAX, MaddenCo Tire Dealer, and PDI Enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a team of system analysts responsible for core, enterprise-level business systems.
  • Works with business leaders, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and identify technology solutions to support business needs.
  • Provides functional application expertise to end users.
  • Responsible for internal and external interfaces, database administration, and software development related to core systems.
  • Prepares strategic plans, budgets, financial forecasts, return on investment analysis, and other documentation.
  • Maintains the policies, standards, procedures, and training plans for company information systems.
  • Manages contracts, statements of work, and other agreements with vendors and managed service providers.
  • Monitors the health and availability of core systems and oversee enhancements, updates, and upgrades.
  • Collaborates with the Network Manager and other members of the IT Department to ensure smooth and reliable operation of systems.

 

Additional Job Duties:

  • Provides “ownership” of problems through final resolution.
  • Complies with all department and company policies.
  • Keeps all information and data confidential.
  • Enforces all company software and hardware standards.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of 4 or more employees.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
  • At least five years of experience in information technology.
  • At least three years of experience supervising staff, preferred.
  • Experience with financial systems, preferably JD Edwards.
  • Experience managing, administering, and maintaining enterprise-level software applications.
  • Experience implementing software to support business processes and needs.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong requirements gathering and elicitation skills.
  • Knowledge of application and web development languages, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of business process mapping and methodologies.
  • Web services and API knowledge a plus.
  • Mobile application development knowledge a plus.
  • Strong and proven leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to manage others and set a vision for the team.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs., while performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
