Overview

The POS Systems Analyst’s role is to implement and support our Point of Sales (POS) systems across the company. They ensure system stability and efficient operation by enhancing, maintaining, and supporting point of sale, payment, inventory, and loyalty system components.  This role is the Level II expert on our POS systems, including, but not limited to NCR StorePoint, NCR Aloha, and MaddenCo Tire Dealer.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development and implementation of new point of sale and payment system projects and installations.
  • Recommends, schedules, and performs PC hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Deploys new applications and enhancements, including planning, configuration, testing, and support.
  • Documents project plans, business requirements, functional diagrams, test scripts, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Conducts research, evaluate, and recommend hardware and software products for purchase.
  • Works closely with the Service Desk and communicate directly with business unit leaders.
  • Complies with all Department and Company Policies.
  • Maintains confidentiality; ensuring information is handled discreetly and data protected.
  • Enforces all company software and hardware standards.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience (include certs or licenses needed):

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or closely related field and/or 2 years equivalent work experience preferred. 
  • Experience with NCR StorePoint, Aloha, or other corporate point of sale systems.
  • Working knowledge of customer loyalty systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and related services.
  • Hands-on with Windows scripting and object-oriented programming languages.
  • Experience with web services, APIs, and system integrations.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent technical knowledge of POS software and PC hardware.
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Extensive equipment support experience with Windows-based computer systems.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards, including TCP/IP.
  • Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Strong organization and documentation skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • Must have on-call availability.
  • Up to 20% travel may be required for the purpose of training, installations, and meeting with vendors or service providers.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., while performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.
  • Will be the Level 2 support for on-call Help Desk Technicians with POS issues.  This will require having a cell phone and assisting via the telephone after hours as needed.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
  • Physical attendance at the primary work location is required.
